How Water Purification Is Performed With Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment

Reverse osmosis water treatment or RO, as it’s commonly called, uses water purification in an industrial setting for the purpose of human consumption.  With this system, mineral salts, pesticides and bacteria can be removed from the water.

The concentrate stream gets drained and some of it is reprocessed in the feed stream.  At this point it is added to the healthier water flow.

With reverse osmosis water treatment, about three fourths of the concentrate stream is sent back to the feed water stream.  The membranes in the reverse osmosis water treatment procedure can stand the test of time.

These membranes work like new most of the time and rarely wear out. They also don’t require a lot of maintenance even after years of use.

Reverse osmosis water treatment is very efficient and convenient. As a matter of fact this same process is used to make most of the bottled water that you see.  It can also be used to convert sea water into drinking water.
