OK, that water coming out of the faucet in the kitchen is probably more important than any other. It is the water that we cook with and drink. It needs to be the best. In other words it needs to be all it can be! Let’s find out how it can be for under 10 cents a gallon. I will give you 5 things to consider before you pull out your wallet.

1. Reverse Osmosis or Carbon Activated Filter?

Reverse osmosis systems cost more and they lack the efficiency. They typically use a 3 stage process which removes sediment, dirt, algae, minerals, lead, inorganic compounds, salt and some others. Now some of these minerals are needed by the body and help make the water taste better. After this slow process is completed the water is stored in a tank.

The carbon activated systems remove much smaller substances such as pesticides, herbicides, and chlorine. They allow the needed minerals to stay. The water simply flows through these systems at a rate of on average about 30 gallons per hour.

2. What about the cost?

You should be able to get a great carbon activated system for under $200 which equates to less than 10 cents per gallon! Oh yea, and you can stop filling the landfill with those plastic bottles that you may have been paying $2.00 for! Use a refillable bottle and fill it for pennies instead of dollars.

3. Do I need a plumber?

If you are the least bit handy you should be able to install one of these systems in a matter of minutes.

4. How about space and maintenance?

The carbon activated under sink water filter takes very little space. And with normal use the filters should only have to be changed about every 6 months.

5. How long does it take to make the water?

The carbon activated water filter, unlike the reverse osmosis system, makes the water as you use it. You should never run out of pure, clean, tasty water.

So to sum it all up, you can have healthier, better tasting water for less than 10 cents a gallon and a few minutes of your time. Just make sure that you buy from the leader: Aquasana! Rated #1.

Please take the time to watch this video and see how easy it is to install your own under sink water filter.
